Grade G. Responsible for exploring and developing new business opportunities, managing the successful development of offers, building strong and effective relationships with appropriate partner/supplier contacts and project managing specific elements of strategic projects, whilst exercising a sound combination of commercial and technical rigor to help achieve BP's growth objectives.

bp has set out a new strategy that will shift the company from being an international oil company focused on producing resources to an integrated energy company focused on delivering solutions to customers.

At the heart of our strategy is low carbon electricity and energy, building scale in renewables and bioenergy, seeking early positions in hydrogen and CCUS, and building out a customer gas portfolio to complement these low carbon energies.

As the Offshore Wind Originator in Renewables Growth business you will play a pivotal role in reshaping bp’s business. You will be at the heart of bp’s strategy implementation, driving growth through new low carbon investments.

You will be responsible for originating and delivering new offshore wind growth opportunities through insightful market analysis, due diligence, and negotiation skills. You will be a key member of the Renewables Growth team, working closely with the commercial advisors, commercial developers, power market analysts and bp functions including Mergers & Acquisitions, bp Treasury and Tax.

Key Accountabilities:

• Contributes to strategy development for a specific market for both fixed and floating offshore wind, identifying business development options and activities, through both greenfield and M&A
• Identifies and evaluates various offshore wind markets for access, including long-term renewables demand/targets forecasts, route to market, subsidy regimes, power market analysis, consenting process, transmission infrastructure, wind speeds, seabed analysis and supply chain availability
• Identifies existing projects and partners, builds relationships, leads on delivering project due diligence, in collaboration with commercial analysis and structuring experts provides succinct recommendations on deal structure and value optimisation
• Develops and implements negotiation strategies to deliver commercial and operational agreements, including MoU’s, termsheets, Joint Development agreements and complex M&A transactions, identifying integration opportunities with other parts of bp, including power trading, green hydrogen and regional businesses
• Prepares for and leads on lease bidding rounds, delivering applications and bidding strategy, leading cross functional teams of experts
• Delivers internal governance for the investment decisions and contributes to development of market advocacy plans and stakeholder engagement

Essential Experience:

• Working experience developing and/or operating offshore wind projects either as a developer or a consultant
• Commercially savvy
• Power market and contract experience
• Market or business development expertise
• International commercial experience, including negotiation responsibility
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Bachelor's degree in technical, finance or business discipline or equivalent experience
• Additional languages will be an advantage
