Grade F. Responsible for managing a large team to deliver a broad range of business development activities, including technical and economic evaluation of potential projects, collaborating with teams to develop optimal development solutions, and project managing a range of strategic projects, exercising a strong combination of commercial and technical rigor to help achieve BP's growth objectives.

The Offshore Wind Asset Managers will report to the VP Offshore Wind Asset Management and will be responsible for managing the offshore wind portfolio of large joint ventures (JV) as well as supporting the execution of the growth strategy globally. They will initially be accountable for the day-to-day management of non-operated assets, offshore New York and ensure that they deliver expected strategic value to bp. As part of this, you will be expected to manage all aspects related to JV relationship management, governance, funding, performance management and driving the development phase into execution. The JV is expected to build a portfolio of assets and your role will be to leverage experience in this initial phase into further investment decisions, managing the bp US offshore wind portfolio, generating commercial value.

This is an exciting period of growth in Zero Carbon Energy with further JVs likely to be set up in future years.

Key Accountabilities:

• Enable business delivery of offshore wind business targets for US JV/OBO ventures
• Work hand in hand with functional SMEs to provide assurance and influence operator/IJV service provider leveraging bp technical expertise and best practices
• Support VP Offshore Wind Asset Management and VP Finance Low Carbon Energy on JV commercial topics (power disposal strategy, integration with T&S, hydrogen, etc)
• During JV Setup, support development of the business model elements of the JV, governance structure and ways of working/operating model in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
• Support business strategy and value protection in areas of responsibility
• Integrate with project and business managers, providing visibility on activity plan, schedule and project risks
• Represent bp business in all relevant committees or working groups
• Support, and where appropriate, leads governance approvals and provides business input and assurance
• Support Finance team on economic models, technical and business assumptions and assurance for governance
• Support PPM/finance on all budgeting, forecasting, and PPM activities (internal performance)
• Support review of commercial and legal agreements to preserve value and ensure business delivery, as required
• Share learnings across the bp offshore wind portfolio and collaborate with the business development team in making wise investment decisions to achieve bp’s strategy
• There are two asset management roles envisioned, depending on candidate fit, focus may be on:
• Onshore scope – port, port upgrades, market, grid connection, stakeholder management, permitting, or Offshore scope – power generation & transmission, permitting, stakeholder management

Essential Experience:

• Experience in the energy sector, project management and awareness of power markets
• Strong leadership capability with excellent influencing and integration skills that energizes people and maximizes value.
• JV management and deep understanding of key governance processes
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage large amounts of complex information
• Understanding of key value drivers of energy sector, with focus on power, renewables or utility businesses
• Experience in delivering commercial solutions, particularly within the development phase of a project; helpful if experience is in Offshore or onshore wind or renewables; recognise this is transferable from other sectors
