ESG Lead Europe & Middle East

Lewis Davey is delighted to be working with a leading real estate consultancy who are looking for an ESG lead for overseeing and coordinating the European & Middle East region.  Located across c. 20 countries across Europe and the Middle East, you will work with the individual in country teams and at group level to tie together the various in-country ESG teams, all at various stages of development, to share best practice, understand corporate objectives and provide commercial leadership whilst developing fee earning consultancy service lines.

 

You’ll be responsible for delivering pitches from the wider business, developing colleagues’ knowledge of trends / focus areas linked to ESG, and have regular contact with cross border clients to ensure our approach is understood and aligned to the real estate market.

 

Tasks and activities will include:

 

  • Forming a virtual hub sharing best in class skills across the region
  • Provide guidance and assist in the delivery of client sustainability services such as:
    • Net Zero pathways
    • Green building certifications,
    • Energy efficiency and energy management,
    • ISO14001
    • EU Taxonomy
    • GRESB
    • TCFD,
    • GHG emissions reporting
    • Social value reporting

 

  • Acting as point of contact and project interface for ESG country representatives managing country level ESG client services and internal sustainability reporting.
  • Support business development activities across the EME business
  • Drive and support environment and sustainability business growth with a broad base of investor and occupier clients.
  • Provide sustainability reporting expertise across the full range of service lines to a range of real estate markets.
  • Deliver training materials, client engagement and communications, as required
  • Communicate ESG matters through formal presentations and interactions with clients and staff.
  • Contribute to the maintenance, development, communication and implementation of sustainability standards within EMEA.
  • Represent the busienss externally on sustainability matters e.g. government consultations, responses to public enquiries, pitches etc.  
  • Support future team recruitment and provide line management and leadership, as required.
  • Manage, drive, coordinate and champion new innovations in sustainability projects.
  • The role is likely to include around 30% of time dedicated travel, allowing face to face work with teams across the EME countries.

 

 

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with a holistic knowledge of sustainability within professional services organisations and the real estate sector allied to a keen interest in emerging areas of sustainability.

 

  • Technical specific knowledge of Sustainability / ESG / Engineering / Environmental Legislation / Environmental Science / Energy Management or similar
  • Customer and people orientated, ability to be client facing; excellent communicator and presenter
  • Highly motivated individual, with drive for self-development
  • Excellent time management, for role with high variety to suit a proficient multi-tasker
  • Resourceful team worker, with ability to be autonomous in certain specialist fields, a good leader
  • An evident passion for sustainability and the wider ESG subject 
  • Good English, grammar, spelling and document checking skills
  • Completely IT literate, numerate and experienced with data analysis with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong report writing and focus on quality assurance

 

               

QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL ABILITIES

 

Required

o   Several years’ experience in relevant ESG / Sustainability / Environmental roles

o   BSc Degree in relevant subject.

o   Experience in ESG / Sustainability consulting

o   Have experience at delivering both financial and technical management of key fee earning services

o   Fluent in English

 

Desired

o   MSc or MEng in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Energy Management, Sustainability, ESG or equivalent.

o   Working towards a professional qualification iEMA, Energy Institute (EI), CIBSE or similar.

o   Experience in relevant field of work

o   Real Estate sector specific experience

o   Other language skills a positive but not essential
