Exciting Opportunity: Senior Environmental Planner / EIA Co-ordinator

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Environmental Planner / EIA Co-ordinator to join their expanding team. With the flexibility to be based at any of their multiple UK offices, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse and impactful projects. The core environmental planning team includes experts in planning, EIA, landscape and visual assessment, graphics, and visualisation. Additionally, the broader consultancy team encompasses specialists in noise, ecology, air quality, water, and land contamination. This collaborative environment ensures a comprehensive approach to projects, which currently range from renewable energy developments to industrial and commercial building projects, all contributing to the net zero agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and Coordinate Projects: Take charge of multidisciplinary EIA projects from start to finish, ensuring smooth and successful delivery.
- Conduct Environmental Assessments: Perform thorough environmental assessments and compile comprehensive EIA reports.

- Provide Expert Advice: Offer specialized guidance on environmental planning, regulations, and best practices.

- Engage with Stakeholders: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and the public.

- Manage Resources: Efficiently handle project timelines, budgets, and resources to meet project goals.

- Mentor Junior Staff: Support and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture.

- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

- Educational Background: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in EIA coordination and environmental planning.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of EIA processes, environmental legislation, and planning policies.
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency in environmental assessment tools and software.
- Professional Membership: Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, RTPI) is highly desirable.
