We now have an exciting opportunity to join one of the South West's leading employers as a Senior Commissioning Engineer for our team based in Exeter. You will be required to travel to our operational sites as part of your role.

The Role

The Senior Commissioning Engineer will be an integral part of the project team in the development, construction and commissioning of changes to new and existing operational assets to meet defined outputs in accordance with safety, cost, time and quality targets. You will work with and provide feedback to the Technical Performance team to ensure Technical Standards are current and appropriate.

The Senior Commissioning Engineer will manage a team of Commissioning Engineers, ensuring appropriate Commissioning Engineering support is available across South West Water's Capital Programme and the team is kept informed of changes to procedures and standards. 

You'll be responsible for auditing contractors' commissioning and training procedures for quality and compliance; whilst reviewing the Functional Design Specification (FDS) and O&M manuals, to ensure the installed plant operates in accordance with requirements.

The Ideal Senior Commissioning Engineer:

 *An Engineering Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience *Proven ability to lead and motivate a team *Have proficient leadership, organisational and supervisory skills *Proven track record of overseeing development, construction and commissioning of operational assets *Possess wide-ranging technical knowledge *A good listener with the ability to respond to issues in a positive and supportive manner *Capable of a measure of strategic overview in relation to the task *Ability for lateral thinking and prepared to challenge ‘conventional' wisdom *Full clean driving licence
