The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Solar Development Engineer with at least 3 years of work experience in the development and design of solar utility-scale projects. You need to have a Bachelor of Science or electrical engineering degree with sound knowledge of the design and construction process of distributed generation, commercial solar PV, and utility-scale solar projects. If you are proficient in AutoCAD and solar modeling tools such as PVSyst or Helioscope, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

As the Solar Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solar energy systems. You will create project plans, perform site assessments and ensure that all solar projects meet the regulatory requirements and environmental standards. You will also collaborate with the project management team to oversee project timelines and schedules. You will undertake all feasibility studies and conduct all technical analyses to recommend the most appropriate equipment and technologies to use. You will also use your expert skills to develop bespoke reports and deliver presentations when needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 - 4 years of work experience with the development and design of utility-scale solar plants
  • Experience and knowledge of the design and construction process of distributed generation, commercial solar PV, and utility-scale solar PV projects
  • Sound knowledge of solar energy systems, solutions, and technologies
  • Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create excel trackers and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting and delivering bespoke presentations
  • Experience and knowledge working with AutoCAD, and solar modeling tools, including PVSyst and Helioscope

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing solar energy systems for utility-scale projects, performing site assessments and feasibility studies to identify the most appropriate solar energy solution for each project, creating project plans and schedules, cost estimates and timelines for all solar energy projects, conducting of all technical analyses and recommend the best equipment and technologies for all solar projects, building relationships with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, and suppliers. The solar development engineer will be expected to use their expert report writing skills to prepare bespoke reports, documentation, and presentations when necessary. They will also work with other departments, including design and construction, to ensure that the project is completed successfully.
