Are you a dedicated Business Development Manager with a bachelor’s degree and a good few years of development experience in renewables? If you have an excellent understanding of renewable energy project development processes and you are capable of assessing energy projects from an economical and legal perspective, then let’s talk! This is an opportunity of a lifetime for a master project manager to join a Tier 1 global photovoltaic solar project developer, EPC, and panel manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have an economics degree with 5 years of business development experience within the renewable energy sector. You need to have a background in successfully managing energy projects and be familiar with the authorization process for zoning, environmental, and building codes as well as land and grid connection conditions. This role is ideal for a confident energy expert who has an excellent understanding of renewable energy project development processes. If you have an impressive track record of bringing projects to a financial close, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying potential project opportunities, conducting feasibility assessments for investment purposes, negotiating, and signing lease agreements, and acquiring all permissions that will be needed to build and operate solar plants. You will use your expert project management skills to drive successful project completion whilst leveraging your confidence and the wealth of knowledge that you have gained from your position in the industry to build and maintain valuable stakeholder relationships.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, technical law, or a related field of study (requirement)
  • Masters in business administration will be highly preferred
  • Business development courses would be beneficial too

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in the energy sector or a project-related environment
  • Familiar with the authorization process for zoning, environmental, and building codes as well as land and grid connection conditions
  • Capable of assessing energy projects from an economical and legal perspective
  • Ability to work independently and proactively approach stakeholders
  • Excellent understanding of renewable energy project development processes
  • Experience in bringing projects to financial close
  • Sound knowledge of the typical bid requirements for the renewable energy industry

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include identifying potential solar projects, assisting throughout the identification, evaluation, and assessment of solar projects for investment, negotiating and signing lease agreements, liaising with authorities to acquire all the necessary permissions to build and operate solar plants, collaborating with the engineers regarding the technical design of each plant, managing engagements with local authorities, utilities, and the regulators, engaging with legal, tax, technical and insurance advisors, facilitating projects until they reach ready-to-build status and also participating in the auction and sale process of projects.
