The evolution of clean technology and renewable energy solutions has become a critical issue for commercial and industrial organizations (C&I) given emerging financial opportunities, sustainability goals, and the desire for integrated energy strategies. Schneider Electric Cleantech & Solutions Services group, part of Schneider’s Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS), provides support and leadership to some of the world's best known C&I organizations on diversifying their portfolios to include renewable energy and emerging energy technologies.

With the rapid expansion of C&I interest in renewables globally and in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region specifically, Schneider is seeking to expand its team in Europe through the hiring of one or more experienced professionals.
Position Summary:
The EMEA Cleantech Operations Manager will have responsibility for the operational practice and service growth within the consulting, strategic renewables and PPA business line in the EMEA region, reporting directly to the Vice President, Global Sustainability & Cleantech. Specifically this will entail the management of and responsibility for the EMEA Operations function, leading to successful outcomes for clients. 
The Operations Manager will be expected to work closely with the team in Client Management and Business Development, as well as the established team of colleagues throughout the world.  He or she will be expected to personally perform any and all parts of the job as necessary, with the goal of developing and managing a team of Cleantech professionals in consulting, sourcing / procurement and operational activity.
The role will be expected to lead, coach and mentor others on operational processes for Onsite and Offsite Corporate Renewable transactions and opportunities, including developed, emerging and new processes, driving operational excellence and efficiency. The role will be expected to enable operational development and lead a team of Cleantech professionals. Focus on enabling client confidence in the team’s ability to exceed expectations, and enabling closure of consulting agreements will be key. Additionally, the role will be expected to work with, and coach others to work with, the existing business development team as a subject matter expert on corporate renewable energy.
The position requires skills to navigate and manage a diverse group of stakeholders, and strong understanding of energy markets in countries throughout EMEA as well as provide input and leadership on the vision of Cleantech consulting and operational services in EMEA and beyond.
Experience with onsite and/or offsite utility scale, wind and solar development and the renewable energy industry is essential.

Essential skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Energy, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Extensive experience of managing complex projects
• Experience with onsite and/or offsite utility-scale wind and solar development and the renewable energy industry.  Preferred previous exposure to structuring and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements in EMEA region specifically.
• Experience directing the work of project teams and/or managing people
• Experience in supplier and RFP / offer tender management strongly preferred
• Developed project management skills with the ability to track operational and projects requirements for multiple projects in diverse areas.
• Ability to initiate, establish, navigate, and nurture relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Commitment to learning and adapting to emerging energy landscapes
• Previous experience in European electricity markets.
• High commitment to company vision, values and excellent customer service
• Analytical self-starter with strong attention to detail
• Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English required, additional languages preferred (Spanish, French, German or other)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland; London, England; but flexibility around locations within UK.
